THIS WORLD INTERESTS ME. I find inspiration in the most unexpected places and am passionate about taking that inspiration and creating my own interpreted view.

 

Prints, color, and structure are commonly found in my creations. I find happiness in developing my own world and innovating a never-before seen story. Many of these fantasies are influenced by the places I’ve been. When I travel, I feel truly free. I document my adventures with one of my beloved pastimes: photography. My prints derive from photographs of these enchanted lands.

 

Sustainability and a great appreciation for the planet are two essential elements in the way I design and in my everyday life.  The fashion industry is one of the most destructive forces on the environment and I’m in the process of finding ways to minimize this impact. Many experiences in the industry environment have taught me that we need innovation and a change.

 

I’ve interned with well-known companies, such as Rick Owens, and small businesses, such as Laura Tanzer, which have helped me see a different perspective on how they function. I also have an eye for design and have won 1st place in Alvanon’s Half-Scale Design Challenge, where I used fabric I designed to create a structured dress. As well as design, my innovative thinking of the business world was recognized in Target’s Case Competition, where I was awarded 1st place. I was the creative director of Synergy Fashion Group, who produces University of Delaware’s student-run annual fashion show. My senior collection, Thermochroma, won Most Innovate Collection in the Synergy Fashion Show, which was judged by industry professionals. Now, I am developing new prints and silhouettes for new pieces.
